Akkocchi maṃ avadhi maṃ ajini maṃ ahāsi me; ye taṃ upanayhanti veraṃ tesaṃ na sammati.
English Translation
When someone thinks, "He insulted me, he hurt me, he beat me, he robbed me," and holds on to that thought, hostility does not end for them.

Editorial Note
Pairs with verse 4 (identical structure, opposite outcome) — together they make the same point as verse 5 (already in this sample) from a different angle: it is the holding on, not the original wrong, that keeps hostility alive.
